Hi, We’re the Burgess Family

You may know us from D&B Forever Photography – the beginning Wondering what OHANA Studios is?  Here’s the scoop:

We believe in God & Family.  Without both of these, our lives would not be were they are today. Our faith in God has gotten our family through devastating hardships – most biggest of which, our son Josh being killed. Josh, our daughter Lily and their cousin Jeffrey were stopped at a red light in Greer in front of Target on December 5th, 2018 when a drunk driver who had stolen a car slammed into the back of Josh’s car. Josh was killed instantly. Jeffrey was able to crawl out the front window of the car as it was flipped up on it’s side. Lily was trapped in the passenger side back seat, and the Taylors & Greer emergency workers cut the car apart to rescue them. Jeffrey suffered a serious concussion, and was beaten up very badly. Lily had a compound fracture of her femur, cracked pelvis, broken nose, and a serious concussion. After many long months, she was able to recovery 100serious injuries, and are back to “normal” lives.

Now, OHANA Studios (Originally OHANA Sports Photography) is a permanent branch of D&B Forever Photography and is ready to support your organization!

That night, one of Josh’s best friends/brother and fellow football teammate, Adrian Gleaton was supposed to be in the car that night, and would have been sitting right behind Josh. Had he been in that car, he would not be with us today. The day of Josh’s funeral, Adrian gave his life to the Lord, and accepted Him as his Lord and Savior!

Adrian has grown to be a part of our family. Proving that blood is not everything, and that family is made up of people that have unconditional love for each other. It doesn’t matter what background, race, creed or any other demographic – family rises above all that, and love even higher than that.

Adrian has picked up the love of photography, and even coined the name for OHANA – saying that FAMILY (OHANA) is stronger than any blood relation.

Adrian is almost finished with college now, and will be graduating as an RN, and will pursue his BSN afterwards. He’s going to be a great nurse!
